More than 20,000 fans, spectators and delegates are set to witness a musical concert by Punjabi singer Karan Aujla at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali on Saturday evening.
There has been a rush for tickets and passes as youngsters are vying to groove to the pop star’s performance. Ticket prices start from Rs 4,999 for general entry and go up to several lakh rupees for premium lounges.
The two-hour show is scheduled to begin around 7 pm and conclude before 10 pm.
Aujla’s performance is part of the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit, a three-day event being held in Mohali to attract global investors to the state.
Fans not only from the Chandigarh Tricity region but also from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru have started streaming into the city. Footfall at the Chandigarh airport has increased significantly since Friday evening. Sources said Aujla arrived in the city yesterday evening.
More than 3,000 police personnel have been deployed in the city to manage the event. Around 100 police officers have been deputed to ensure smooth arrangements.
The Mohali administration has also issued a traffic advisory and barricaded roads to avoid inconvenience to residents.
