Three masked intruders broke into a residence in a posh area of Moga this evening, brutally attacked a woman, and made off with around Rs 25 lakh in cash and gold jewellery.According to police sources, the incident took place in the evening when the gang, reportedly travelling in a Bolero vehicle, forced their way into the house by claiming they were plumbers. At the time, the woman was alone in the home.Upon entering, the suspects allegedly restrained the woman and demanded valuables. When she shouted for help, one of the assailants attacked her with a sharp weapon, severing her hand. The woman was later rushed to Moga Civil Hospital for treatment.The robbers then ransacked the house, stealing cash and gold ornaments believed to have been kept for a land transaction. The victim’s 13-year-old daughter, returning from tuition at the time, heard the commotion and managed to open the door and raise alarm. Neighbours then rushed the injured woman to hospital.The victim’s husband said the money in the house included earnings from his business and funds borrowed for an imminent land deal.Local police reached the scene shortly after the incident and have begun a detailed investigation. Teams are combing through nearby CCTV cameras to identify and trace the suspects. Senior officers have stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the criminals soon
