At least seven workers were killed after an under-construction wall collapsed at a construction site of Signature Global Society in Sidhrawali village here late Monday evening. Several other labourers were injured in the incident.According to officials, the accident occurred when a group of around 12–15 labourers were working near a Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at the construction site. The wall suddenly gave way, causing debris and soil to cave in and trapping the workers underneath.Fellow workers present at the site and passersby immediately began rescue efforts, trying to pull out the trapped labourers out with their bare hands. Shortly afterwards, teams from the police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and fire brigade reached the spot and took over the rescue operation.“So far, the bodies of seven workers have been recovered from the debris, while five others who sustained injuries have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment,” an official said.Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse and to examine whether safety protocols were followed at the construction site.
