Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will undertake a four-day padyatra from February 9 to raise awareness against drug abuse in border districts of Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and Fazilka.Announcing the programme here on Tuesday, Kataria said the initiative was being organised by the Punjab Red Cross. He said the padyatra would begin in Tarn Taran on February 9, followed by Ferozepur on February 10 and Fazilka on February 11. On February 12, he would lead the walk in Abohar.He said the problem of drugs had reached “gigantic proportions” and required wider public participation. The fight against drugs must become a people’s movement, with village defence committees playing an active role.
