Lakhwinder Singh, a resident of Chak Allah Bakhsh village in Mukerian tehsil, who died in Greece, has had his body brought back to India, thanks to the efforts of former MP Avinash Rai Khanna. His last rites have been performed in his native village of Chak Allah Bakhsh.According to the information received, Lakhwinder Singh’s brother, Sukhdev Singh, had met with Khanna a few days ago and informed him about his brother’s death in Greece and the difficulties they were facing in bringing his body back to India.Following this, Khanna immediately brought the matter to the attention of the Central Ministry of External Affairs.Now, the Under Secretary of the Central Ministry of External Affairs has informed Khanna through a letter that Lakhwinder Singh’s body has been sent to India.Khanna’s office contacted Lakhwinder Singh’s brother, Sukhdev Singh, who confirmed the news. Sukhdev Singh thanked Mr. Khanna and the Government of India for their help.
