Two unidentified motorcycle-borne youths allegedly robbed a Jammu and Kashmir cop at gunpoint near the Attari border area, prompting local police to register a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.The complainant Mohammad Rafiq Rishi, a resident of Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, is currently posted on special duty at the Attari border.In his statement, Rishi said on February 1 at around 8 pm, he stepped out for a walk. When he reached close to a T-point near the Attari side, two youths arrived on a motorcycle. One of them was carrying a sharp-edged weapon, while the other brandished a pistol.The assailants allegedly threatened him at gunpoint and forcibly snatched his mobile phone before fleeing the spot.On the basis of his statement, police have registered an FIR under Section 304 of the BNS and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act against unknown persons.Further investigation is under way.
