Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’ has been lately capturing headlines after Ranveer Singh reportedly walked out of the film post the success of ‘Dhurandhar’.The 2006 blockbuster film ‘Don’, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, was directed by Farhan Akhtar. However, in an old interview with Raj Shamani on his podcast, Farhan revealed that Khan was not his first choice for the film.Farhan said that he initially reached out to Hrithik Roshan to discuss the idea of remaking the 1978’s iconic film featuring Amitabh Bachchan. However, while writing the script, Farhan felt that he should reach out to Shah Rukh Khan for this film.When he revealed the same to Hrithik, the ‘Krrish’ actor extended his support by asking him to have faith in his instinct and do what he thinks is best for his film.Farhan Akhtar said that it was very gracious of Hrithik to understand the situation and back him up.Both ‘Don’ (2006) and ‘Don 2’ (2011) have been box office success, earning Rs 106 crore and Rs 275 crore, respectively.
