The Ludhiana Police have announced a cash reward of Rs 20,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of brutally murdering a nine-year-old boy in the city.Aman was found dead in the bushes near an empty plot in the Kasabad locality on February 7. His throat had been slit.A murder case was registered against an unidentified person. Two days after the body was recovered, police identified the accused as Ajay, a resident of Kasabad.‘Wanted’ posters of the accused have been put up at various places.The accused has previously been named in multiple criminal cases. In 2020, a case was registered against him at the Jodhewal police station for the rape of a seven-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment in that case.However, on February 2, while being taken to the civil hospital for a medical examination, he escaped from police custody and has been absconding since then.Police said the informant’s identity will be kept confidential.
