The Mohali police have registered an FIR following a complaint by film actor Himanshi Khurana, who alleged that she received an extortion email demanding Rs 10 crore. According to the police, the complaint stated that the email, sent to her personal email ID, contained a voice note, allegedly from a foreign-based gangster seeking Rs 10 crore as extortion money.Acting promptly on the complaint, an FIR was registered on Friday at the Sohana police station under Sections 308(4) and 351(3) of the BNS. SP (Investigation) Saurav Jindal confirmed the development and said the district police have initiated a detailed probe into the matter. Efforts are underway to trace the origin of the email and the voice message. Police said further action will be taken in accordance with the law after completion of the investigation.
