Pakistan hockey captain Shakeel Ahmad Butt has strongly criticised the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) after the national team endured what he described as a humiliating and chaotic tour of Australia.Speaking to reporters at Lahore airport, Butt alleged that players were left without proper accommodation and even had to “clean the kitchen and wash dishes before going to play a match”.He questioned how the team could be expected to deliver results under such circumstances.“We can’t work with this current management. Enough is enough,” he said. The controversy deepened after the Pakistan Sports Board confirmed it had released more than 10 million rupees to the PHF to arrange hotel accommodation for the tour. However, upon arrival in Australia for the FIH Pro League, the team reportedly waited 13 to 14 hours at Sydney airport before flying to Canberra.Further embarrassment followed when players were told that no advance payment had been made to their hotel, leaving them stranded and roaming the streets until alternative arrangements were made. Butt said even the Airbnb accommodation secured later covered only 10 of the 13 scheduled days, forcing the squad to shift to a cheaper residence.Pakistan lost all its matches during the Australia leg, including defeats to the hosts and Germany.Following the uproar, PSB Director-General Noor Us Sabah said a detailed report was being prepared for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has ordered an inquiry into the matter. With PTI inputs
