Pakistan has drawn criticism after an official statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs was found to contain multiple typographical errors, prompting widespread reaction on social media. The headline of the statement read, “Prime Minister’s Visit to the Unites States of Americas,” with the word “United” misspelled. The release detailed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to the United States at the invitation of US President Donald Trump to attend the inaugural session of the Board of Peace on February 19, 2026.Screenshots of the document quickly circulated online, with users pointing out the spelling mistake and questioning the proofreading standards of official communications. One social media user highlighted the word “Unites” along with a laughing emoji, adding to the online ridicule. This is not the first time such an incident has surfaced. Last year, Sharif faced online criticism after a screenshot circulated alleging he had written “I condom the attack” instead of “I condemn” while responding to Israel’s reported airstrikes on Iran. The ministry has yet to issue a clarification or release a corrected version of the statement.
