Drug addiction has once again claimed the life of a young man. Sonu Arora, a 30-year-old Abohar native, was rushed to a district hospital at 4 am today after his condition suddenly deteriorated.However, the doctors declared him brought dead.His family members said that Sonu had been in extremely poor health for the past few days.According to the police, Sonu, who hailed from Street 10, Nai Abadi, Abohar, had been living with his father Pritam Arora and mother for the past three months. The family said that after coming to Sriganganagar, Sonu started driving an auto-rickshaw. His father also drives an auto.Sonu, who was unmarried and has an elder brother and two sisters, had been addicted to drugs for many years. For the last four-five days, he had been confined to the house.The police stated that on the basis of a report filed by the deceased’s father, a case of unnatural death has been registered. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family.Earlier, on Tuesday, a 26-year-old youth from Abohar’s Panniwala Mahla village, who was admitted to a de-addiction centre at a private hospital at Sriganganagar, died by suicide. Harman Singh was admitted to the hospital just two days earlier to help him overcome his addiction to heroin.
