The RNLI said the boat went under at its mooring, with a “large amount of flotsam and debris” found around the wreck. The volunteer lifeboat crew recovered the vessel’s Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) to prevent the battery from leaking into the water.

The manager of Kerrera Marina also attended in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) and helped the team to recover life jackets, life-rings, and as much floating debris as they could. The items were then passed into the care of a coastguard rescue team at Oban Sailing Club.
