Rajya Sabha Member Dr Ashok Mittal, on the occasion of Holi, launched a short tribute film titled “Ek Mutthi Gulaal,” encouraging citizens to remember the country’s fallen soldiers during the festival of colours.According to information shared at the launch, the film presents a fictional conversation between a young girl and her father, portrayed as an Army officer. Through their dialogue about the colour red, the narrative contrasts its festive symbolism with its association with sacrifice and service in the armed forces. The film seeks to draw attention to the contributions of military personnel and the impact of their service on their families.Speaking at the release, Dr Mittal, Chancellor, LPU, appealed to citizens to offer a symbolic handful of red gulaal in memory of martyrs. He stated that while festivals are moments of joy for many families, they can also be occasions of remembrance for those who have lost loved ones in service to the nation. He urged people to observe Holi with gratitude toward members of the armed forces. At the LPU campus, students and faculty participated in a symbolic gesture by releasing red gulaal and observing a brief moment of silence. University representatives said the initiative was intended as a tribute to soldiers and as an opportunity for students to reflect on national service and sacrifice.
