A 26-year-old youth was stabbed to death at Shakti Nagar near Kachi Phatak Road in Panipat city on Holi. The incident was captured in CCTV cameras. The Old Industrial Area police have registered a case.The deceased has been identified as Rohit of Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh, who was living in Shakti Nagar of the city.Mohit Singh, brother of the deceased, in his complaint to Old Industrial Area police said that he along with his elder brother Rohit and cousin Amit were going to their relative in Hari Nagar to celebrate Holi. As they reached near Kachi Kabri Phatak, four youths came on a rashly driven motorcycle. When they asked the youths to drive safely, the youths picked up an quarrel. The matter somehow got settled at that time and the duo reached their relative’s home.However, five-six youths came on a motorcycle and a scooter after sometime and allegedly attacked Rohit. One of them allegedly stabbed Rohit with a sharp-edged weapon, another one attacked him with a brick on his head and the rest of them thrashed him.As people gathered there after hearing the noise, the assailants ran away. Rohit was rushed to the civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead, the complainant said.The CIA unit and cyber police teams reached the spot and recovered CCTV camera footage in which the accused were seen coming on a motorcycle and a Scooty. The police have launched a search to nab the accused.
