The court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge on Thursday granted regular bail to former auditor of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Sarinder Singh Kohli, who had been arrested in connection with the alleged disappearance of 328 ‘holy saroops’ of Guru Granth Sahib.According to information, Kohli had moved a bail application in the local court. After hearing the arguments, the court granted him regular bail. He had been arrested by the Special Investigating Team (SIT) on January 1 in connection with the case.The case regarding the missing 328 ‘Pawan Saroops’ was registered by the police on December 7. In the FIR, around 16 persons, including former and serving officials of the SGPC, were named.The police have so far arrested Kohli and another SGPC employee, Kawaljeet Singh, in connection with the case.Sources said three former employees of the SGPC had already secured anticipatory bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court earlier.The case was registered following a complaint filed by Baldev Singh Wadala, chief of the Sikh Sadhbhavana Dal. Police said the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
