Punjab’s AAP government will present its fifth budget today. Coinciding with International Women’s Day, this will be the first time in the history of the Vidhan Sabha that the Budget will be presented on a Sunday.Earlier on Friday, the Punjab Cabinet approved the presentation of Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2025-26 and Budget Estimates for 2026-27 during the ongoing Budget session of the Vidhan Sabha. Following the alert, the anti-bomb squad rushed to the Vidhan Sabha complex and began a thorough search of the premises. Sources in the Vidhan Sabha said security checks are under way and that the Budget session will proceed as scheduled.
