Top industrialists, including Lakshmi Mittal of the ArcelorMittal Group and Tata Steel chief executive TV Narendran, will arrive here to attend the three-day Progressive Punjab Investors Summit beginning in Mohali on Friday.Industry and Investment Promotion Minister Sanjeev Arora said the state government’s aim was to showcase Punjab as the best investment destination in the country, with one of the best industrial policies.He said the summit would feature 89 sessions covering various sectors. These would include country-focused discussions involving the United Kingdom, Japan and South Korea, along with a dedicated session for micro, small and medium enterprises.Special sessions would also focus on Mohali’s emerging role as an information technology hub, artificial intelligence and other industrial sectors.An industrial exhibition would also be organised during the summit to showcase products and innovations from Punjab’s industries.Arora said investors and delegates from India and abroad were arriving to participate in the summit, though some participants from the Middle East could not travel due to flight disruptions.He added the government hoped the event would allow industry leaders, investors and policymakers to explore the state’s economic potential and strengthen industrial growth.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann performed the groundbreaking ceremony of Infosys’s Rs 286 crore campus in Mohali.
