Pensioners of the Punjab Government have been asked to submit their Digital Life Certificates to continue receiving their pensions without interruption. District Treasury Officer Sukhbir Kaur said the state government had made it mandatory for retired pensioners to submit a Digital Life Certificate through the Jeevan Pramaan portal. The move aims to provide greater convenience to pensioners and bring transparency to the pension disbursement system, she said. She added that many pensioners were still submitting manual life certificates at banks. However, such certificates would no longer be accepted under the new system, she said.Pensioners have, therefore, been advised to submit their digital life certificate at the earliest to ensure that their pension continues without any delay. The District Treasury Officer said pensioners could submit their certificates at several locations, including the nearest treasury office, their respective bank branches and local service centres.Pensioners of the Punjab Government have been asked to submit their Digital Life Certificates by March 31.They could also avail the doorstep service by calling state government helpline number 1076, through which officials would assist them in completing the process from their homes, she said. In addition, pensioners can complete the procedure themselves by downloading the Jeevan Pramaan mobile application, and submitting the certificate digitally.Officials said the digital system helped verify the life status of pensioners through biometric authentication, and ensured that pensions were released smoothly without the need for physical visits every year. All pensioners had been requested to ensure that their Digital Life Certificate is submitted on or before March 31, they added.Authorities have urged pensioners not to wait until the last date, and to complete the process as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience in receiving their monthly pension.
