Amid the ongoing US-Iran-Israel war, it was Jalandhar-based Capt Sukhmeet Singh who commanded one of the two ships that brought back thousands of metric tonnes of LPG and reached Mundra Port in Gujarat on Tuesday. It was an emotional moment for the family at their house in Adampur here as he safely returned to India from the conflict zone. The family said he was in Qatar on February 26 and moved to Iran on February 28, the day the war started. His wife, Sandeep Kaur, said the last few days were anxious moments for the family.“Sukhmeet would not share any information with us on phone. He would call us to say he was fine. We are proud that he served the nation at a critical time and ensured the safe delivery of the shipment,” she said.
