A minor girl was seriously injured after being attacked by stray dogs at Bachhoana village in the Budhlada area here. The injured girl was first taken to the Civil Hospital, Budhlada, and was later referred to Patiala in view of her serious condition.The victim, a Class III student, had gone to the fields with her grandmother on Tuesday. While the latter was working, stray dogs attacked the girl and bit her multiple times on head, arms, legs, thighs and back, leaving her critically injured.On hearing her cries, some people rushed to the spot and managed to scare away the dogs.Last month, an eight-year-old girl from Bhagu village in Bathinda district was brutally attacked by stray dogs, leaving her critically injured with around 40 bite wounds.Residents said the menace of stray dogs has been increasing. They added that several people have already fallen victim to such attacks, but no concrete action has been taken by the administration so far.
