As many as 15 vehicles, including trucks and cars, were involved in a pile-up due to dense fog on a flyover on NH-44 on the Panipat-Delhi stretch on Saturday morning, leaving around 10 persons injured. The injured, including four men, three women and three children, were taken to a private hospital near Sewah village. The accident occurred amid dense fog after three days of rain, which reduced visibility significantly. According to preliminary information, a truck had been parked on one side of the flyover near the new bus stand in Sewah village due to a technical snag.A vehicle approaching from behind failed to spot the stationary truck in the low visibility and rammed into it, triggering a chain collision involving several vehicles. The incident led to a long traffic jam on the flyover for over two hours on the highway and in the city.Police teams reached the spot and, with the help of cranes, removed the damaged vehicles to restore traffic movement. Traffic has also been diverted towards the city to ease congestion.
