The family of deceased Punjab Warehousing Corporation district manager Gagandeep Randhawa has expressed resentment over the delay in the arrest of former Punjab minister Laljit Bhullar and others named in the case. They have issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the government to arrest the accused.Addressing the media here on Monday morning, Upendra Kaur, the deceased’s widow, said if the accused are not arrested in the stipulated time, the family will be forced to begin a protest. Her daughter also questioned the state government’s conduct. “Because Laljit Bhullar was a minister, he could not be arrested. Had it been a common man, the police would have arrested him immediately,” she said.Meanwhile, a purported CCTV video of Randhawa consuming poison has gone viral on social media. Also, even two days after the incident, the post-mortem has not been conducted. The family remains firm on its demand for the arrest of all those named in the abetment-to-suicide case.According to the family, Randhawa took the extreme step after being under immense pressure from the former minister.
