A 20-year-old trekker from Kerala, identified as Arshad Narikkottu Mecheri, was rescued after getting stranded in deep snow during a solo trek towards Beas Kund under Manali region in Kullu district.According to police, the young trekker soaked his shoes in the snow, leaving him unable to move in freezing conditions. A distress call was received through the emergency helpline 112, prompting immediate action.Sub-Inspector Raj Kumar, who was deployed near the Atal Tunnel, mobilised a police team and rushed to the location.After a challenging search operation, the team located the stranded individual approximately 2-3 kilometers above Dhundi Bridge, stuck in deep snow and physically unable to walk.The police team carried the trekker on their backs through the harsh terrain, ensuring his safe evacuation.Authorities have advised visitors and trekkers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary risks while exploring high-altitude regions, especially during extreme weather.
