Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar strongly criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, saying that if the CM now claims there is no shortage of oil and gas in Punjab, then why was a resolution passed in the Assembly against the central government. He demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann immediately apologise to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of Punjab, because the confusion created by the AAP government led to a panic in the state over oil and gas. People began hoarding, even though in reality the supply of oil and gas was not affected. He said that it is due to the success of the Government of India’s foreign and trade policy that crude oil and gas are continuously being supplied to the country and there is no shortage anywhere. He added that just as it took the chief minister six months to realize that ₹13,000 crore was lying in the disaster relief fund, similarly, it took him 15 days to understand that Prime Minster Narendra Modi is capable of managing the country’s needs and that there is no shortage of oil and gas.Sunil Jakhar further said the rumors which the chief minister is now appealing to stop were actually caused by the so-called condemnation resolution brought by the AAP government in the Assembly. He said the Prime Minister was already aware of global conditions and had ensured reserves as per the country’s needs. Even now, oil and gas supplies are continuing under the same foreign policy that the chief minister had earlier criticized. He added that the country is capable of dealing with every challenge. He said that it has always been AAP’s policy to create confusion on every issue and shape public opinion based on falsehoods, but Punjab is not a state that can be misled easily. People here are politically, economically, and socially aware, and they understand such tactics well.He demanded that since the situation is now clear, the Punjab government should withdraw the condemnation resolution passed in the previous Assembly session in the next session and apologise for the misinformation.Speaking about the DM Gagandeep Singh Randhawa case, the BJP leader said the family deserves justice. Saluting their courage, he said despite being threatened and having their electricity cut, the family did not bow down. On the other hand, slogans are being raised in support of the minister. He added the chief minister cannot escape accountability in this matter and that justice for the family is essential.Attacking Congress on the same issue, he said if the party had raised the demand for a CBI inquiry in the Parliament, it must clarify under whose pressure its leadership is now stepping back.He concluded by saying that Congress leaders are speaking in double standards, but the people of Punjab are identifying those who stand with them and those who are acting against their interests for political gain. He added Punjab will respond in the upcoming elections.
