Raghav Chadha, recently replaced as AAP deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, was once a key figure in the party. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had even offered Kapurthala House, his official Delhi residence, for Chadha’s engagement with Parineeti Chopra. Arvind Kejriwal, AAP chief, had raised a toast at the ceremony, highlighting Chadha’s importance as his right-hand man. The only other time Kapurthala House was used privately was for Kejriwal’s daughter Harshita’s wedding in April 2025.However, Chadha’s influence began to wade in 2024 when he refrained from commenting on Kejriwal’s arrest in the Delhi excise scam. He also stayed silent when a Delhi court discharged Kejriwal and 21 others.Chadha joined AAP in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming spokesperson and treasurer. He lost the 2019 Lok Sabha election but won Delhi’s Rajinder Nagar seat in 2020, becoming vice-chairman of Delhi Jal Board. In 2022, he became the youngest Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab and advisor to CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.Chadha later focused on national issues like affordable UDAN cafes, gig workers’ rights, menstrual hygiene, and traffic congestion. However, this led to speculation about his growing influence within the party.Chadha has been replaced by Lovely Professional University (LPU) Chancellor Ashok Mittal.
