A day after the Aam Aadmi Party removed him as deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Raghav Chadha on Friday issued a strong warning to his party asking it to not construe his silence as his defeat.”Is it a crime to raise issues of the people? Why would anyone want to silence my voice?” Chadha asked in a video message this morning after AAP yesterday told Rajya Sabha secretariat to not allot him time from party quota to speak in Parliament.Thanking people for supporting him for raising their issues, Chadha told his party, “Do not consider my silence as my defeat. I am a river that can turn into a flood when the time comes.”Speaking in a video with Samvidhan Sadan (old Parliament house) in the backdrop, Chadha said he was because of the people and for the people.”Whenever I get an occasion to speak in Parliament I raise issues of the people and these are issues which no one else raises. Is raising public issues a crime? Have I committed any sin, anything wrong?” asked Chadha.Chadha questioned AAP for asking the Rajya Sabha secretariat to stop Chadha from speaking in Parliament.”AAP has told the RS secretariat that I should not be given a chance to speak in the Parliament. Why does anyone want to silence me? I always raise the issues of people — like expensive food available at airports, problems of riders of Zomato and Blinkit or mixing up things in their meals, toll plaza loot and bank charges loot, burden of tax on the middle classes, how telecom companies make people recharge 13 times in 12 months, do not give data rollover. All these issues I have raised in Parliament.”Chadha said the common man has benefitted from issues he has raised.”But what harm have these issues brought to AAP? he urged people to continue supporting him and promising to keep raising their issues.Chadha said to “people who have snatched his right to speak and silenced him:: “Do not consider my silence my defeat. I am that river which turns into flood when the time comes.”
