Former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Friday demanded a high-level probe into the death of Congress leader Khushbaz Singh Jattana.Jattana, along with his driver Parminder, was on his way to Mohali from Delhi when a speeding truck allegedly rammed into his car near the Jakholi toll plaza on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in Haryana’s Sonepat district on Thursday evening, killing the two.47-year-old Jattana had contested the Assembly elections twice from Talwandi Sabo. He was cremated in Bathinda on Friday, with several Congress leaders in attendance.Raja Warring called for a thorough investigation, raising doubts over the circumstances of the crash.“Jattana’s stationary vehicle was hit by a speeding truck. How can a vehicle crash into a stationary car in broad daylight? The truth will come out once the truck driver is arrested,” Warring said, adding that the condition of the body reflected the severity of the impact.Echoing similar concerns, Jalandhar Cantt MLA Pargat Singh said the incident had left several questions unanswered and demanded a high-level probe.Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi termed it a very unfortunate incident and said that the probe was underway.Later, in a communique, Congress leaders claimed that the truck driver had been arrested and that the Sonepat police had assured a probe.
