Allaying fears of a possible LPG shortage, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on Friday said there is no disruption in the supply of cooking gas or petroleum products across Punjab and Chandigarh, asserting that the situation was fully under control.Speaking to The Tribune, Ashutosh Gupta, Executive Director, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and State-Level Coordinator for the oil industry in Punjab, reassured consumers that adequate stocks of LPG are available and supplies are being maintained smoothly to meet current demand. The stock position at LPG bottling plants remains comfortable, with inventory levels in line with established norms and regular replenishments already planned. The companies also clarified that supplies of Motor Spirit (petrol) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) are normal across the state and the UT. Depots are maintaining healthy inventory levels, and retail outlets have sufficient stock to ensure uninterrupted sales.Officials said the industry is closely monitoring the situation and has taken all necessary steps to streamline logistics and expedite deliveries wherever required.Issuing an advisory, OMCs urged consumers not to indulge in panic booking or hoarding, emphasising that there is no shortage of LPG or fuel.Consumers have also been advised to book LPG cylinders through digital platforms and ensure Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) verification at the time of delivery to promote transparency and ensure timely service to genuine customers.“The cooperation of the public is essential to maintain smooth and efficient distribution,” said Gupta.Reiterating that supplies remain stable and sufficient, the oil industry appealed to the public to remain calm and rely only on official information.
