Actor Parineeti Chopra publicly backed her husband, Raghav Chadha, on Friday after he was removed from his position as the Aam Aadmi Party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. However, she later deleted the Instagram story expressing her support.Chopra also showed support by commenting on a post by Rajiv Adatia, who described Chadha as “one of the finest politicians India has ever seen.” She responded warmly, writing, “Awwww mere dost.”The political reshuffle took place on Thursday, when the AAP appointed Ashok Mittal as the new deputy leader and formally notified the Rajya Sabha secretariat of the change.Responding to the development, Chadha shared a video montage of his parliamentary speeches, captioned, “Silenced, not defeated.” The video highlighted his work on key public issues such as the tax burden on the middle class, exam paper leaks, air pollution, and data privacy. He also questioned the party’s decision, asking whether raising these concerns had been considered a “crime” or a “mistake.”Chopra briefly reshared the video on her Instagram stories before taking it down.Nevertheless, she has consistently supported Chadha’s legislative efforts, particularly his recent push for legal paternity leave — an initiative she noted was inspired by their shared experience of parenting their son, Neer, born in October 2025.
