Names of a farmer leader and a YouTube journalist have surfaced during the investigation into the suicide case of Punjab Warehousing Corporation (PWC) official Gagandeep Singh Randhawa here, according to sources.Both had allegedly assaulted the victim. Meanwhile, the mobile phone of the victim has emerged as a crucial piece of evidence in the case involving former Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar.However, the police are yet to recover the digital video recorder of CCTV cameras and Bhullar’s mobile phone.According to sources, investigators have retrieved vital call detail records and location data from Randhawa’s phone. The digital evidence reportedly establishes his contact with the former minister and traces his movements.Family members of the deceased had alleged that Bhullar had been repeatedly calling and threatening Randhawa over the allotment of tenders.On March 13, Randhawa was allegedly summoned to Patti — Bhullar’s native town — where he was reportedly humiliated and assaulted by Bhullar, his father Sukhdev Singh Bhullar, personal assistant Dilbagh Singh.Both the journalist and the farmer leader were allegedly present at the spot and suspected to have assaulted the victim. It has been alleged that the YouTube journalist recorded a video in which Randhawa was allegedly seen confessing to accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh for the allotment of tender.
