Reinforcing his commitment to public welfare, MP Dr Amar Singh has undertaken a series of development initiatives in Sirhind town under the MPLAD fund, aimed at improving basic civic amenities across his constituency. He distributed 230 benches, three mortuary refrigerators and installed 11 water coolers across 23 wards of Sirhind to address practical challenges faced by families, particularly during bereavement.Addressing the gathering, Dr Amar Singh said expanding basic infrastructure in every ward remained his foremost responsibility. He said the projects had been undertaken keeping in mind the day-to-day needs of residents, particularly during the summer season, when access to clean drinking water becomes crucial.Highlighting the utility of the facilities, he noted the benches would provide much-needed seating in public spaces, especially benefiting the elderly and women, while the water coolers would offer relief amid rising temperatures. The provision of mortuary refrigerators, he added, would help families preserve the bodies of their loved ones until relatives arrive, easing emotional and logistical difficulties.“The trust and affection of the people motivate me to continue working with greater dedication,” he said, adding that more development projects would be initiated in the coming months to further strengthen infrastructure across the constituency.Former MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra lauded the MP’s efforts, stating that such welfare-oriented initiatives would significantly improve the quality of life for Sirhind residents. He also appreciated the transparent and effective use of MPLAD funds for public benefit. He said the measures reflect a continued focus on addressing the fundamental needs of the people and expressed hope that more such projects would be implemented across the region in the future. Several local leaders and municipal representatives were present at the distribution ceremony.
