
A human skull was found during an Easter egg hunt in a Southern California park, authorities said Monday.Subscribe to read this story ad-free Get unlimited access to ad-free articles and exclusive content.The remains were found Sunday afternoon in Long Beach’s De Forest Park, the city’s police department said in a statement.Officials later confirmed the skull was human, a police spokeswoman said.Jattvibe Los Angeles reported that it was found near a walking trail.The spokeswoman, Andrea Moran, said the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating.She said the skull was found during an independent event at the roughly 50-acre park, which includes a river parkway, trails and freshwater wetlands.The park is roughly 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.Additional details about the remains were not immediately available.
