The Haryana government has appointed Uttam Singh as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gurugram in a major administrative reshuffle involving 15 IAS officers across the state.Uttam Singh, who was previously serving as DC of Karnal, replaces Ajay Kumar, who has been transferred and posted as Deputy Principal Secretary-II to the Chief Minister.The reshuffle, carried out under the directions of the Haryana government, is aimed at strengthening governance and improving administrative efficiency in key districts, including Gurugram.Several other officers were reassigned to strategic roles, indicating a broader bureaucratic restructuring exercise. Officials said such periodic transfers were essential to ensure better policy implementation and responsive administration.Uttam Singh is expected to take charge soon and oversee key urban governance challenges in Gurugram, including infrastructure management, civic services and coordination between multiple agencies in one of Haryana’s fastest-growing districts.
