An 84-year-old resident of Akal Sahai Nagar, Phagwara, Harjit Singh Parmar, has lodged a police complaint over “illegal subletting” and “forced entry” into his shop on Cinema Road.Parmar stated that he had rented the shop to Joginder Singh of Mehli Gate, who allegedly sublet it without consent to another person, Amrinder Singh alias Sabi Tohri, and later to a boutique operator for monetary gain. Parmar claimed he later recovered possession, changed the locks, and secured the premises.However, on April 13, he was informed that Joginder Singh and his son allegedly broke the locks and re-entered the shop without permission.Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at City Police Station, Phagwara, and further investigation is under way. The authorities are examining the allegations of illegal subletting, criminal trespass and damage to property.
