A bus carrying devotees overturned in Punjab’s Fatehgarh Sahib while returning from Anandpur Sahib, killing six and injuring 15 others, police said on Wednesday.The accident took place late on Tuesday night near Main Majri village in the Bassi Pathana subdivision of Fatehgarh Sahib district.The bus, carrying around 40 devotees, was returning from the Baisakhi fair at Anandpur Sahib in Rupnagar district when it reportedly developed a technical snag. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the vehicle, after which the bus rammed into an electric pole before overturning.The accident triggered panic at the scene, with several passengers trapped inside the bus. Local residents were the first to respond, rushing to the spot and helping rescue the injured.Police and emergency teams reached the site soon after receiving information and launched a rescue operation. The injured were initially shifted to hospitals in Morinda and Fatehgarh Sahib, while those critically injured have been referred to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh for advanced treatment.
