Nida Khan, a 26-year-old woman, has emerged as a central figure in a controversial case involving allegations of sexual harassment and attempted religious conversion at a business process outsourcing (BPO) office linked to Tata Consultancy Services in Nashik, Maharashtra. The case has drawn significant public attention due to the seriousness of the accusations and the involvement of multiple employees.According to police, Nida Khan is among eight individuals accused in the case and has been described as the alleged “mastermind” behind certain aspects of the incident, particularly those related to handling complaints within the workplace.Police officials have recovered approximately 78 ‘suspicious’ call records, emails and chats exchanged between the accused. The police have found evidence of potential financial transactions too, reports ANI.Nida, currently on the run, claims she is pregnant and wants court relief.Investigators claim that she functioned in a human resources capacity and was part of the Internal Complaints Committee formed under workplace sexual harassment laws. In that role, she is alleged to have discouraged victims from pursuing formal complaints and failed to escalate serious allegations to higher authorities. The case first came to light after a 23-year-old employee filed a First Information Report (FIR) in Nashik. In her complaint, she accused a colleague of sexual harassment, alleging that he entered into a relationship with her under the false promise of marriage while concealing the fact that he was already married. She further claimed that, during this period, she faced pressure from certain colleagues who allegedly tried to influence her religious beliefs and encouraged her to convert. In addition to these claims, the complainant alleged that some of the accused made objectionable remarks about a Hindu deity. Nida Khan has been named in connection with these allegations, along with others, including Danish Shaikh and Tausif Attar. Police have indicated that multiple victims have since come forward, and a total of nine complaints—filed across different police stations—are now part of the investigation.Authorities have arrested several accused individuals, while initially stating that Nida Khan was absconding. However, her family has disputed this claim, asserting that she has been at home and fully available. They have also stated that she is pregnant and has been undergoing emotional distress due to the accusations.Nida Khan’s family has strongly denied all allegations against her. According to them, she was not employed in a senior HR role but worked as a telecaller after joining the BPO in December 2021. They argue that she had no authority to influence internal complaint processes and was wrongly identified as a key figure in the case. Her father has publicly stated that she simply carried out her job and is being unfairly implicated. The investigation has taken a broader turn with the involvement of a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is examining potential links between the accused. Police officials report that they have recovered dozens of call records, emails, and chat messages exchanged among those named in the case. These communications are being analyzed to determine whether there was coordination or deliberate suppression of complaints.Additionally, investigators are exploring the possibility of financial transactions between the accused, which could indicate a deeper level of collusion. CCTV footage from the workplace has also been reviewed, and statements from both victims and accused individuals are being recorded to build a comprehensive picture of events that reportedly took place between 2022 and 2026.The case has also prompted an internal response from Tata Consultancy Services. The company’s leadership has described the allegations as deeply concerning and confirmed that an internal inquiry is underway. It has reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy toward workplace misconduct and stated that it is cooperating fully with law enforcement agencies. As the investigation continues, significant discrepancies remain between the claims made by police and complainants and the defense presented by Nida Khan’s family, who claims she is innocent. With inputs from ANI/agencies
