As part of global outreach efforts to attract investment, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann held a series of meetings with industrialists in the Netherlands, according to a state government statement.During an interaction with the Netherlands-India Chamber of Commerce and Trade (NICCT), led by Edith Nordmann, the Chief Minister batted for improved business ties between Punjab and the Netherlands. He also highlighted Punjab’s focus on value addition, export-led growth, and integration with global supply chains, especially in sectors such as food processing and manufacturing.During a road show in The Hague, the CM showcased the state’s industrial strengths. He invited investors to “come, invest and grow in Punjab,” while appreciating the shared cultural values and entrepreneurial spirit between Punjab and the Netherlands.Mann also interacted with members of the Punjabi diaspora during a community engagement programme.Meeting with hockey legendChandigarh: Mann met Dutch hockey legend Floris Jan Bovelander in the Netherlands. Bovelander, a penalty corner specialist, still holds the record of being the all-time top scorer in the Dutch hockey league history.He is also the second-highest scoring player for his country, with 215 goals in 241 international matches (1985- 1996). He was part of the Dutch team that won the 1996 Olympics, 1990 World Cup and 1987 European Championships. Mann requested to utilise Bovelander expertise to strengthen hockey in Punjab, particularly in the run-up to the prestigious Asian Champions Trophy.
