MANCHESTER UNITED are planning a major overhaul of their squad this summer with up to 13 PLAYERS reportedly set to leave Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are approaching a crucial period in the summer as they decide who will take charge of the team after Michael Carrick‘s interim spell.

The former United midfielder will be keen to take the role full-time as he closes in on a top five finish.

Should he be given the nod, he’ll have a big summer on his hands looking to get the squad in fighting shape for next season.

United made three key signings last summer as attackers Bryan Mbeumo, Mateus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko all came in.

But they failed to sign a new midfielder to give competition to the likes of Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo.

With Casemiro set to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season, United will be looking to bring in a new midfielder to replace him.

But it’s also a huge opportunity for United chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his hierarchy to clear out the deadwood and help the team reach the summit of English football once again.

Along with Casemiro, a number of players could be sit for the exit door, with the Daily Express reporting more than a dozen stars may leave in a massive clearout.

Jadon Sancho and Rasmus Hojlund have also been on loan to Aston Villa and Napoli respectively this season and look likely to depart.

Andre Onana is another player destined for the exit door after losing his place in goal and loaned out to Trabzonspor, the report adds.

Fellow goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek have question marks over their futures too.

Meanwhile, left-back Tyrell Malacia is also a certainty to seal his exit after a failed move away in January.

Midfielder Manuel Ugarte faces an uncertain future too after a lack of games under Carrick.

Another senior star who has been tipped to leave is forward Joshua Zirkzee, who is said to be frustrated by a lack of game time after just four starts in the league this season.

And this summer could also be the time for a number of academy talents to leave the club.
