STORMING IN
Chilling moment ‘gunman’ runs past Secret Service and ‘opens fire at dinner’
The 31-year-old is facing firearms and assault charges after he was arrested.
It comes as…
He was reportedly staying at the hotel at the time of the shooting.
Overnight, heavily armed agents swarmed a home in Torrance, California, linked to Allen.
And chilling video from Donald Trump’s correspondents’ dinner shows the president and his wife sat at the dais at the front of the Washington Hilton as a shooting broke out in the venue.
Trump recalled how his wife alerted him to the sound of gunshots in a briefing to the press just an hour later.
“The fact that we were sitting next to each other, the First Lady on my right, and I heard a noise,” Trump said.
The US president added that at first he thought it was a tray being dropped on the floor by a staff member.
Melania was the first to raise the alarm that the sound could be gunfire, Trump added.
The First Lady told her husband about the “bad noise”, as Trump added: “it was a rather traumatic experience for her”.

“Melania was very cognisant,” he continued.
“The First Lady was doing a terrific job. She loves the country.
“She recognises it better than any. But she told me numerous times, she said ‘you are in a dangerous job’.”
In the video, Secret Service agents storm the stage as Melania ducks beneath the table.
Officers then take the president to the ground before bundling him off the stage.
Agents with full tactical gear scan the room as their guns are cocked ready to fire.
Melania and Karoline can be seen crawling backstage as they flee for their lives.
