MOTORWAY speeds could be cut to a sluggish 55mph under barmy plans being considered by the Greens.
Party chief Zack Polanski yesterday repeatedly refused to rule it out – simply arguing it has not been in their manifesto.

The idea stems from long-standing party policies backed by members, which are now under review as the Greens try to clean up their platform.
The Green Party boss also left the door open to a potential coalition with Labour under Angela Rayner or Ed Miliband.
Asked by ITV about the speed limits, Mr Polanski said: “That’s not been in the manifesto and in ten days’ time we’ve got local elections and unsurprisingly, speed limits are not on the ballot.”
But when asked if it was ever policy, he dodged again, saying: “Well, there’s a difference, as I’m saying, between what the members vote on and then also what we have in a local election, and speed limits are not in a local election.

Pressed again, he added: “The important point is that, what the members have decided already in the document says this will be reviewed and updated.”
On a coalition with Mr Burnham or Ms Rayner, Mr Polanski told Jattvibe it was “almost impossible to know” without seeing their platform, but admitted they are “much closer to my politics” than Sir Keir Starmer.
He added it would be a “significant improvement” if Labour moved in a more “progressive direction”.
Earlier this month we reported that the Green Party leader wants to ban horse racing.
His “cranky” call to abolish the £4billion industry comes as he seeks to legalise heroin, crack and prostitution — plus slap a tax on dog owners.
The party also wants to scrap the Trident nuclear deterrent, ban zoos and drop the Church of England as the nation’s established church.
