NEIL ROBERTSON is on the brink of a whopping £10,000 fine following his maths blunder at the World Snooker Championship.
Robertson, 44, conceded the second frame of his first-round clash against Pang Janxu last week when trailing 57-10 after missing a black.

However, he had miscalculated the score and was still within range of catching Pang without any snookers with three reds still on the table.
Robertson was initially bemused but quickly apologised, telling the referee: “Ah, I miscalculated the score. Yeah, sorry. I didn’t mean it.”
Snooker stars are allowed to give up on frames prematurely – but face a minor slap on the wrist.
It was originally thought Robertson would get the usual warning and a nominal £250 fine – a far cry from the £50,000 he is guaranteed for reaching the quarter-finals, where he faces Ronnie O’Sullivan’s conqueror John Higgins.

But now it has been revealed that the Australian No4 seed’s fine will actually be £2,000 due to various unrelated penalties earlier in the season.
And according to the Metro, a further misdemeanour would land the 2010 world champ in really hot water with a staggering £10,000 punishment for repeat offences.
Ken Doherty and Robertson’s coach and close pal were on BBC commentary together when the freak incident unfolded – but neither of them realised the magnitude of the accumulating fine.
Doherty, the 1997 world champion, said: “Well, what has happened there?

“He has actually conceded when he can still win. He’s absolutely disgusted with missing that black.
“But that’s very unusual for Neil Robertson to do something like that. You don’t really see that in the game anymore.
“I couldn’t believe that he had conceded. Not only will he be warned, he will incur a fine for that as well — £250 that cost him.”
Perry added: “I am not entirely sure Neil realised he could still win.
“Because that is totally out of character. He is going to get a warning in a minute off the referee and then he will realise what he has done.
“I thought it was a miscalculation from Neil. He would never ever do that. It’s not in Neil’s character. Just a complete misread of the score.
“There was no petulance or anger from Neil. A nice little fine in the post.”
Robertson would bank a cool £500,000 if he went all the way and won the final.
