Some 79 per cent of Brits predict riots this summer, the survey by the More In Common thinktank found.

And 83 per cent are braced for a rise in shoplifting because of soaring bills.

While 73 per cent of people are also worried they will see a rise in homelessness and people going hungry.

“People are really worried about the cost of living now the Iran War has sent bills up again.

“They want the PM Sir Keir Starmer to grip the crisis and fear for the country if he doesn’t.”

Inflation could rocket to 6.2 per cent in the wake of the war, the Bank of England has warned.
