India’s newly appointed Ambassador to China, Vikram Doraiswami, on Monday commenced his diplomatic assignment by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at the Jintai Art Museum in Chaoyang Park, Beijing.He was accompanied by the museum’s curator, Yuan Xikun, during the visit.The Ambassador also paid homage to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at the Indian Embassy, marking a symbolic start to his tenure in China.Shri Vikram Doraiswami commenced his assignment as Ambassador of India to China by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Jintai Art Museum in Chaoyang Park today. He succeeded Pradeep Kumar Rawat as Ambassador to China.With prior diplomatic postings in Beijing and Hong Kong, as well as experience in multilateral engagements, Doraiswami would be expected to play a key role in managing the complex relationship between the two Asian neighbours.
