Punjab BJP  leader Durgesh Sharma, has issued a statement aimed at opposition parties regarding the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.Drawing a parallel to the West Bengal campaign, Sharma remarked that just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi established a direct connection with the people of Bengal over ‘Jhalmuri’, he is now set to do the same in Punjab with its traditional flavors.Durgesh Sharma emphasised that the Prime Minister shares a deep-rooted bond with the spirit of Punjab.”When PM Modi enters the electoral battlefield in Punjab next February, he will elevate the state’s pride through his connection with the land and its iconic ‘Makki di Roti and Sarson da Saag’. The spice of Bengal’s Jhalmuri overwhelmed the opposition; now, the purity of Punjab’s desi ghee and Saag will propel the BJP to a massive majority,” Sharma stated.The State Secretary mocked the opposition’s reaction to reports of the Prime Minister’s intensified outreach in the state. He claimed that rival parties are already suffering from “political indigestion” due to the sheer impact of the BJP’s growing momentum.”The opposition is terrified,” Sharma quipped. “They fear that the sweetness of PM Modi’s lassi will wash away their hollow promises.”Sharma reiterated the BJP’s commitment to making Punjab drug-free and economically resilient. He used a local metaphor to describe the party’s grassroots efforts: Much like the patient churning required to prepare authentic Saag, BJP workers are currently “churning” at the village level to build a foundation for a golden future.Sharma predicted that by February 2027, the people of Punjab will taste the “flavor of development,” with the BJP holding the keys to power.
