I tested the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 out over a year ago now, to see if it could recreate that signature hotel experience at home.

Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 review: Quickfire Q&A
How firm is the Premier Inn Mattress? The Premier Inn Mattress offers that sweet spot of medium-firm support that many sleepers crave. Not too soft, not too hard — it’s got that Goldilocks feel, thanks to its clever zoned system, which provides extra support exactly where you need it.
Who’s it best for? It’s suitable for a range of sleepers. If you feel the cold or overheat, you’ll benefit from its high-tech temperature regulation, and its Geltex layer is great for restless sleepers who also want firm support.
What we loved: It’s excellent value for money. You can feel the science that went into the mattress, and it doesn’t feel any different from a night at a hotel, thanks to its grandness and height.
What we didn’t: While I think it’s worth it, there’s no denying the price point is on the steeper side, especially if you’re looking to overhaul your entire setup (bed, headboard, mattress, etc.).

Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 review: The Nitty Gritty
First impressions
Unlike rolled bed-in-a-box mattresses, the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 turns up flat, wrapped in a thick layer of protective plastic and ready to sleep on straight away.
Delivery is refreshingly straightforward.
The drivers brought it into my room of choice with no extra charge, so there is no awkward hallway manoeuvring before you have even started.
That said, it is a seriously substantial mattress.
It took two of us to shift it into place, although the two handles on each side make it far easier to grip and reposition.
The handles aid future movement, such as mattress flipping

Once it was set up, I did what anyone would do and flopped straight onto it.
The first thing I noticed was the support. I tend to wriggle and sprawl, and the way the layers respond makes it easy to move around without feeling like I’m fighting the mattress.
Premier Inn says the Mattress 2.0 uses seven layers designed to work together for comfort, moisture wicking, breathability, temperature regulation, support, and an anti-bedbug treatment.
The double also feels roomier than a standard double, thanks to the edge-to-edge support.
It is a small detail, but it makes a difference if you like to spread out and roll over through the night.
Does it deliver?
Overall, yes. It did what it promised for me, with consistently good sleep and a finish that feels genuinely premium.
What stood out is how cohesive it feels.
You can sense the different elements doing their jobs, including the temperature regulation and the firm, gentle support when you turn over.
The mattress offers height, sturdiness and temperature regulation features
Premier Inn Mattress 2.0, from £609
With the weather shifting, I tried it on nights with a duvet and on others with just a thick fleece sheet, and the temperature control felt noticeable either way.
My only real gripe is practical rather than performance-based.
Moving it solo is hard work, particularly when you are five feet nothing.
Beyond that, it comes close to replicating that hotel-level comfort and luxury, to the point I have started choosing it for working and reading as well.
I usually reach for a chunky mattress topper for an extra layer of softness and support, but I have not needed one here.
Premier Inn pillow review:
IF you’re looking to go all the way and update all of your bedding too, I also reviewed the Premier Inn Luxury Pillows.
I tried out both the soft and firm varieties of the pillows in my Premier Inn pillow review, and each set (there are two per pack) comes with quilted protectors.
These are very easy to put on and are machine-washable, like the pillows themselves.
The soft pillows are ideal for front sleepers, while the firm ones are ideal for side sleepers.
The soft pillows are definitely still more on the firm side, so wouldn’t be suitable for ultra-soft pillow lovers, but they’re extremely lightweight and soft
The firm ones are a firm pillow lovers’ dream due to the support for side sleeping.
Overall, they’re a great investment for anyone looking to elevate their sleep game this spring!
If you’re looking for a pillow that offers a temperature-regulated, allergen-free, hotel-level night’s sleep, these are for you.

The padded design already gives a cradling feel.
In day-to-day use, it suits a range of sleepers. There is enough firmness for restless movers, but also enough softness for anyone who wants a little give.
The temperature regulation will appeal if you run hot or get chilly overnight, and the edge-to-edge support means you can starfish without feeling like you are about to roll off, or crowding a partner as you move.
How much does the Premier Inn mattress cost, and where can you buy it?

Premier Inn Mattress 2.0: The Verdict
The Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 has genuinely improved my sleep.
I am no longer waking up uncomfortable or too warm, and that change has had a noticeable knock-on effect on my energy and focus the next day.
Good rest is hard to quantify, but after testing plenty of sleep upgrades, this is the one that has made the biggest, most consistent difference.
If you are due for a mattress refresh or want a proper reset of your whole sleep setup, I would happily recommend it.
How I tested the Premier Inn Mattress
With a depth of 28.5cm, it certainly feels like value for money
Premier Inn Mattress 2.0, from £609
Sleep matters a lot to me, and over the years I have tried plenty of products that promise to improve it, from mattress protectors to herbal tea sachets.
I also work at Jattvibe Shopping, where we cover a wide range of sleep-focused buys, including the best pillows, Mission Natural Sleep powder, and even the viral Oodie pyjamas designed to support better rest.
That means I am always keeping an eye on what is genuinely worth your money, and what is just good marketing.
After finally ditching a 15-year-old mattress, I wanted to give the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 a proper, fair test, long enough to get past the initial novelty.
The difference was still huge. I slept on it for a month, switching up bedding and sheets as I went, and used it in real-life conditions, including long Jattvibeday lie-ins and early nights.
Premier Inn Mattress alternatives
If you like the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 style, meaning a pocket sprung hybrid with that supportive, hotel-bed feel, the Silentnight Mirapocket 1000 is a sensible place to start.
It is made by the same manufacturer, but usually lands at a much lower price point, so you can get close to the Premier Inn vibe for less.
The Happy Beds Signature 2000 is another strong contender and is often around £300 cheaper than the Premier Inn mattress, depending on size and offers, while still delivering solid comfort and support.
Prioritising eco credentials? Natural latex options like PlushBeds, Avocado Green, and Zenhaven are worth a look.
Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 FAQs
What type of mattress does Premier Inn use?
A few years back, Premier Inn partnered with Silentnight to develop its current sleep setup, and the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 is made exclusively with Silentnight.
In practical terms, it is a medium-firm hybrid built around 1,000 pocket springs for support, paired with Geltex foam for cushioning, plus breathable materials to help with airflow overnight.
The aim is to create a supportive, hotel-style feel that suits a wide range of sleepers, including those who change positions often.
Before this Silentnight era, Premier Inn previously used Hypnos mattresses in its hotels, so long-time guests may notice the difference in feel.
