Mr Jenrick’s partner, Michal Berkner, 53 – with whom he shares three daughters – was born in Israel to Holocaust survivor parents.

Antisemitic messages were also allegedly sent to the Israeli embassy in Kensington, West London, as well as hate messages to a Muslim group.

The alleged offences occurred between January 27 – Holocaust Memorial Day – and May 7, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

Nick Daly, 30, was arrested and later charged with nine counts of sending communication conveying an indecent/offensive message.

Daly has also been charged with one count of sending communication threatening death or serious harm, Surrey Police confirmed.

Kris Venkatasami, from the CPS, said: “Prosecutors have authorised criminal charges against Nick Daly following a review of the evidence referred to us by Surrey Police.

“Eight of the 12 counts relate to sending anti-Muslim communications to a Muslim organisation and one count relates to antisemitic messages sent to the Israeli embassy.

“A further count relates to sending communication threatening death or serious harm to an MP’s office.

“We have also authorised charges of possessing an offensive weapon and an amount of cannabis.”

Daly spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during his appearance at Guildford magistrates’ court today.

Speaking on BBC Question Time yesterday, Jenrick said he received death threats and antisemitic abuse “all the time”.

During a discussion about Nigel Farage‘s security, he said: “I myself have been the recipient of death threats.

“My wife is Jewish. We receive antisemitic abuse all the time. It is sometimes tough going into public life.”

Jenrick – who formerly served as shadow chancellor for the Conservatives – also pointed to the murders of fellow MPs Jo Cox and Sir David Amess.

He continued: “I’ve known two members of parliament who have been killed in the time that I’ve been in the House of Commons.”

Jo Cox, Labour MP for Batley & Spen, was killed while heading to a constituency surgery in 2016.

Sir David Amess, the Tory MP for Southend West, was murdered by a terrorist while holding a constituent surgery in 2021.

Jenrick’s comments come amid a rising number of antisemitic incidents across the UK.

Police have arrested 30 people since an arson attack on two Jewish ambulances in Golders Green in March.

And two people were stabbed in a terror rampage in the Jewish neighbourhood in North London just days ago.

The Met Police boss Mark Rowley was heckled by Jewish Londoners chanting “shame on you!” in the wake of the attack.

The horror came just two days after a memorial wall paying tribute to Iranians was set on fire, just a few streets away.

Two people were killed and an attacker was shot dead during a Yom Kippur terror attack at a synagogue in Manchester last October.

Tory Party leader Kemi Badenoch called on the government to treat the rise in antisemitic attacks as “a national emergency”.

Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis added: “Words of condemnation are no longer sufficient” and called for “meaningful action”.

Israel’s foreign ministry blasted that Starmer’s statements are “no substitute for confronting the roots of antisemitism”.

It added: “The UK Government can no longer claim this is under control”.

Wes Streeting admitted “we’ve got to do more as a Government and as a country” to protect Jewish people.
