Arsenal vs Burnley preview
Arsenal will look to take another giant step towards winning the Premier League title tonight, with relegated Burnley the visitors for the penultimate game of the season.
The Gunners can no longer wrap up their first league crown in 22 years this evening following Manchester City’s victory over Crystal Palace last Wednesday.
However, the title remains firmly in Arsenal’s hands. If Mikel Arteta’s side win tonight and again on the final day at Selhurst Park, they will be crowned champions regardless of City’s results.
Pep Guardiola’s side were in FA Cup action over the weekend and must beat Bournemouth on Tuesday to keep the race alive. Of course, if they drop points, the title will be signed, sealed and delivered to Arsenal’s address.
The bookmakers are expecting Arsenal to do their part tonight, pricing them at a tiny 1/12 to collect all three points.
And, in truth, it is hard to argue with those odds. Mikel Arteta’s side have won four of their last five matches in all competitions, keeping four clean sheets during that run.
They have also beaten Burnley in four of the last five meetings between the sides and have won nine of the last 11 clashes at the Emirates dating back to 2009.
Still, there are a couple of reasons for caution. Burnley have taken four points from their last three visits to Arsenal, while defender Ben White is expected to miss the remainder of the campaign through injury.
Even so, Burnley arrive in north London without a permanent manager and with one of the worst away records in the division. Only Wolves have picked up fewer points on the road this season.
Nobody has conceded more away goals than Burnley’s 45 either – 12 more than Wolves, who have the next-worst record.

We’re backing Arsenal to win with under 2.5 goals in the match at 3/1 with Betfair.
The bookmakers expect Mikel Arteta’s side to sweep Burnley aside on Monday night, but this could be a far tighter affair than many expect with Arsenal simply focused on getting the job done and taking three points.
In fact, it would not be a huge shock if this finished 1-0. According to Opta, Arsenal winning 1-0 is the most common exact scoreline in the Premier League this season, while the Gunners have recorded 10 separate 1-0 victories across all competitions.
Three of Arsenal’s last five matches have featured no more than one goal, while only two of their last seven games at the Emirates have produced over 2.5 goals.
