BRITS could be told to work from home or down tools in heatwaves under plans by the Government’s climate experts.
The Climate Change Committee (CCC) wants maximum workplace temperature rules — with unions already pushing for a 25C cap.

The taxpayer-funded quango also called for more air conditioning in hospitals, schools and care homes to help vulnerable people.
And the advisers even suggested the school year may eventually need to change — so kids are not forced to sit exams in summer heatwaves.
The climate watchdog also warned Britain is heading for a future of flooded homes, water shortages and dangerous extreme heat.
The report said heatwaves above 40C could be normal by 2050, possibly even passing 45C.

It also warns 92 per cent of homes could overheat within the next 25 years. And heat deaths could hit 10,000 a year by 2050 without action.
At the same time Britain faces worsening floods, hosepipe bans and even dry taps.
The research warns water shortages could top five billion litres a day by 2050.
The committee also warned flooding will get worse as river flows surge and sea levels rise.
Officials said millions of homes are already in flood-risk areas and annual flood damage could hit £4.5billion by 2050.
Advisers also want around £11billion a year spent on climate adaptation projects.
They also said national food stockpiles may be needed to protect against climate-driven shortages and rising prices.
The CCC said “being resilient to the changing climate” is vital.
Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds said ministers would “carefully consider” the findings — but are already investing billions in flood defences.
