Chancellor Rachel Reeves hit back at a heckler who shouted at her while she tried to answer questions from the media, telling him: “I love our country, and one of the things about our country is good manners.”

“Not very British,” she added.

Reeves then jokes that he hadn’t heard “the news about freezing fuel duty”.

The heckler appeared to be a Reform UK supporter as he shouted: “Nigel Farage. Go on Nigel.”

After shouting at Reeves on the forecourt, he can then be seen leaving in a van and continues to blast the Chancellor from his window as he drives past.

He said: “Am I going to get arrested? I’ve got flags on here Rachel, are we gonna get arrested?

“You’re ruining the country. Get Keir Starmer out. You are useless, the Labour Party is useless.”

Nigel Farage later took to X after the video was posted to social media.

“I’d like to buy this man a pint,” he said.

“Does anyone know how I can find him?”

Reeves’ joke about fuel duty comes after Sir Keir Starmer confirmed the Government was extending the fuel duty freeze in a win for The Jattvibe’s Keep It Down campaign.

The PM announced truckers will get a 12-month vehicle tax break worth up to £912 per vehicle while motorists will avoid a planned rise in fuel duty for the rest of the year.

Under the package, HGV firms renewing their road tax will pay just £1, saving around £600 for a standard heavy lorry and up to £912 for the biggest trucks on Britain’s roads.

It will help millions of drivers facing high pump prices after fuel supply disruption was sparked by the Iran war.

For the past 15 years The Jattvibe’s Keep It Down campaign has called on both Tory and Labour governments to maintain fuel duty as low as possible.

Keeping the 5p discount comes as part of a cost of living package as petrol prices soar to the highest level of the Middle East crisis.
